Our Verdict

GGpoker Homepage

In this GGPoker review, we rate GGPoker 8.5 out of 10 overall. GGPoker earns its position as the world’s top-traffic poker site in 2026, holding the number one spot on our Online Poker Ranking. The player pool is genuinely softer than what you will find on PokerStars or WPN at equivalent stakes, the tournament schedule is unmatched (anchored by WSOP Online and the $300M-guaranteed GG World Festival), and the new Ocean Rewards loyalty system delivers up to 80% rakeback for high-volume players, a meaningful upgrade over the retired Fish Buffet.

The trade-offs are real, though. Rake caps at mid-to-high stakes are among the industry’s highest, the PVI (Player Value Index) system quietly reduces effective rakeback for long-term winners, and the ban on third-party HUDs limits the analytical toolkit for serious grinders. The desktop client also runs heavy on system resources.

GGPoker is the strongest choice for recreational and mid-volume players who value game selection, soft competition, and massive guaranteed prize pools. High-volume grinders need to model their effective rake carefully, factoring in PVI adjustments and the higher caps above NL200. The rating table below summarises our GGPoker review scores by category.

Licence and Markets

Licence and Markets

A key factor in any GGPoker review is licensing. GGPoker holds multiple licences across different jurisdictions, and the specific regulatory body covering your play depends on where you register. The global domain GGPoker.com is operated by Puretech International Limited (registered in Belize) under the Kahnawake Gaming Commission (Licence No. 927, issued May 17, 2023), with payments processed through Aeindri Limited in Cyprus.

Beyond the global licence, GGPoker maintains jurisdiction-specific authorisations in several regulated markets through separate operating entities.

GGNetwork also reaches additional markets through regional skins that share the same player pool, software, and rake structure but hold their own licences. Natural8 covers the Asia-Pacific region, including Japan, Vietnam, Thailand, Indonesia, and the Philippines. OlyBet serves the Baltic states and Finland. PokerOK targets CIS countries. 7XL Poker covers Israel and surrounding markets. Danske Spil provides access in Denmark.

Where GGPoker Is Not Available

GGPoker does not offer real-money play in the United States (limited WSOP.com access in Nevada, New Jersey, Michigan, and Pennsylvania is operated by Caesars under licence, not by GGPoker’s international platform). France, Spain, Australia, China, Russia, and Ukraine are also restricted. If your country does not appear in the registration dropdown, you cannot create a real-money account.

A note on Japan: Japanese players can access GGNetwork through the Natural8 skin, and GGPoker lists Japan as an allowed country. However, Japan has no domestic online poker licensing framework. No legislation permits any operator, domestic or offshore, to hold a gambling licence for services within Japan. Players reading this GGPoker review from Japan should understand this legal grey area before depositing.

Is GGPoker legal to play in my country?

Yes, in most countries. GGPoker holds licences from the Kahnawake Gaming Commission, UKGC, and regulators in Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium, and Canada. It is not available in the US, France, Spain, Australia, or China.

Welcome Bonus

GGPoker Welcome Bonus

No GGPoker review would be complete without a breakdown of the welcome offers. New players choose between two welcome offers when making their first deposit. No bonus code is required for either; the choice appears in the cashier after your first deposit of $20 or more.

Option 1: 100% Matched Deposit Bonus up to $600

GGPoker matches your first deposit dollar-for-dollar, up to a maximum of $600. The bonus is released incrementally: $1 of bonus funds is unlocked for every $5 generated in net rake from cash games or tournament fees paid. You have 90 days from the date of your first deposit to clear the full amount.

At a clearing rate of $1 per $5 in rake, the effective rakeback from the bonus alone is 20% on top of whatever Ocean Rewards returns. For a player generating $50 per day in rake, the full $600 clears in approximately 60 days. We confirmed these clearing rates during our GGPoker review testing.

Option 2: $100 in Free Play Rewards

This package delivers $52 in free All-In or Fold tickets over six days, plus additional Daily Freebie bonuses totalling approximately $2.50 during that window. The remaining value comes through Honeymoon challenge rewards. This option suits casual players who want immediate table time without volume commitments.

Honeymoon for Newcomers

Both welcome offers include access to the Honeymoon for Newcomers promotion, available for the first 30 days after account creation. This is a series of 30 daily missions worth up to $350 in additional rewards, bringing the combined first-month value to as much as $950 when paired with the matched deposit bonus. This combined package is one of the strongest new-player offers we found during our GGPoker review.

Regional Bonus Variants

Bonus structures differ by jurisdiction. Canadian players registering through GGPoker.ca in Ontario can claim $150 in rewards and a 100% matched deposit bonus up to $777, higher than the global $600 cap. UK players on GGPoker.co.uk receive the standard $600 matched bonus plus 50 free slot spins. Always check the cashier terms for your specific region, as the figures in this GGPoker review reflect the global default.

Do I need a promo code to claim the GGPoker welcome bonus?

No. Both the $600 matched bonus and the $100 free play package appear in the cashier automatically after your first $20 deposit. No promo code is needed.

Ocean Rewards and Rakeback

GGPoker Ocean Rewards

Rakeback is one of the most searched topics in any GGPoker review, and the system changed significantly in early 2026. GGPoker retired the Fish Buffet loyalty programme on January 30, 2026, replacing it with Ocean Rewards. The change eliminated the randomised spin-wheel mechanic that determined cashback at lower Fish Buffet tiers and introduced a transparent, percentage-based weekly cashback system across eight tiers.

How Ocean Rewards Works

Every dollar of rake or tournament fees you pay earns 100 Tide Points (TP). Your annual TP total determines your tier, and each tier pays a fixed weekly cashback percentage. Once you unlock a tier, your status is locked until the end of the following calendar year, providing long-term stability that Fish Buffet never offered.

Alongside Tide Points, you also earn GEMs, a secondary currency exchangeable for cash in the GEMs Store. Your tier determines your GEM multiplier, with higher tiers earning more GEMs per dollar raked. The combination of weekly cashback and GEMs exchange is how the maximum 80% rakeback figure is reached at the Shark tier.

Ocean Rewards Tier Table

TierTide Points RequiredApproximate RakeEstimated CashbackGEM Multiplier
Fish0$0~16–24%1.5x
Shrimp10,000$100~25%2x
Crab50,000$500~30%2.5x
Turtle200,000$2,000~40%3x
Octopus750,000$7,500~50%3.5x
Dolphin2,000,000$20,000~60%4x
Whale5,000,000$50,000~70%4.5x
Shark10,000,000$100,000~80%5x

Tide Points are earned from all real-money poker formats. Casino play also generates TP at reduced rates: $2 wagered on slots = 1 TP, $6 wagered on table games = 1 TP.

PVI: The Hidden Rakeback Reducer

GGPoker uses a Player Value Index (PVI) that adjusts the rake credited to your loyalty programme based on the network’s assessment of your value to the ecosystem. In practice, this means long-term winning players may receive less effective rakeback than the published tier percentages suggest. The PVI system can reduce credited rake to as low as 50–60% of the actual rake generated at the table for strong winners.

This is a significant factor for high-volume grinders modelling their true net rake. The published percentages in the tier table above are maximums, not guarantees. If you consistently beat the games, your actual return will be lower than what a pure volume calculation would suggest. This is a disclosure that many competing GGPoker review sites omit entirely.

Transition from Fish Buffet

Existing players were mapped to Ocean Rewards tiers based on their highest Fish Buffet rank achieved in 2025. Fish Points earned between December 1, 2025 and the launch date converted directly to Tide Points. Any unclaimed Fish Buffet rewards were paid out as cash on launch day.

Rake and Caps

Rake is where this GGPoker review gets critical. GGPoker charges a flat 5% rake across all cash game formats, with stake-dependent caps that limit the maximum commission taken from each pot. Caps vary by table format, stake level, and the number of players dealt into the hand.

One notable policy: GGPoker rakes preflop pots only when a 3-bet or higher is involved. Single-raised pots that end preflop are not raked. This is non-standard across the industry and marginally benefits players at stakes where preflop action frequently ends the hand.

2/55%$2.00$4.15$8.30
5/105%$2.50$5.00$10.00

Omaha and Rush & Cash

Omaha tables follow the same 5% rate but with lower caps at micro-stakes and proportionally higher caps at mid-to-high stakes. Rush & Cash (GGPoker’s fast-fold format) uses a 5% rake with a 3BB cap across all stakes.

Short Deck (6+ Hold’em)

Short Deck follows a different structure entirely. Instead of percentage-based caps tied to blinds, Short Deck uses fixed caps based on the ante level, with separate caps by the number of players in the hand.

How GGPoker Compares on Rake

At micro-stakes, GGPoker’s rake is competitive with most major networks. The 5% rate is standard, and the caps at NL2 through NL50 fall within the normal range. The picture shifts at mid-to-high stakes: at NL200 and above, GGPoker’s caps ($6 at NL200, $8 at NL500, $10 at NL1000 for 6-max) are among the highest in the industry. By comparison, WPT Global charges 4.5% with a $2 cap at equivalent stakes.

For high-volume grinders, the difference compounds. A player putting in 50,000 hands per month at NL200 will pay meaningfully more in rake at GGPoker than at lower-cap alternatives. The softer player pool partially offsets this cost, but it is a factor worth modelling before committing to high-volume play here. Our GGPoker review rates rake competitiveness at 6.5/10 for this reason.

Is GGPoker’s rake too high compared to other sites?

At micro-stakes, it is competitive. At NL200 and above, GGPoker’s caps ($6–$10) are among the highest in the industry. The softer player pool partially offsets the cost.

Games and Traffic

Traffic volume is a major reason GGPoker scores so highly in this GGPoker review. GGPoker runs the highest cash game traffic of any online poker site globally. In May 2026, the network set successive records for concurrent players, crossing 900,000 connected users during the opening day of the GG World Festival. The 24-hour average regularly exceeds 9,000 cash game seats, with peak traffic during evening hours in European and Asian time zones.

Cash Game Formats

GGPoker offers a broader range of cash game formats than most competitors.

No Limit Hold’em runs from NL2 (0.01/0.02) up to NL10000 (50/100) in both 6-max and 9-max configurations. Pot Limit Omaha is available from PLO2 through PLO10000, with 5-card PLO (PLO5) also on offer at select stakes. Short Deck (6+ Hold’em) runs at ante levels from $0.02 through $10, using the stripped 36-card deck format.

Rush & Cash is GGPoker’s fast-fold format, functionally equivalent to PokerStars’ Zoom. Tables run from NL2 through NL1000 in both Hold’em and Omaha variants. A jackpot bounty element adds to Rush & Cash pots at random, which increases variance but also attracts recreational players.

All-In or Fold (AoF) is a unique push-or-fold format where players start with a short stack (typically 8 big blinds in Hold’em, 5 in Omaha) and must either go all-in or fold each hand. This format is popular with casual players and generates significant traffic across micro- and low-stakes.

Spin & Gold tournaments are GGPoker’s lottery-style sit-and-gos, available from $0.25 through $100 buy-ins with randomised prize pool multipliers up to 200,000x.

Player Pool Quality

GGPoker’s player pool is widely regarded as softer than PokerStars, 888poker, or WPN at equivalent stakes. The network’s aggressive marketing, WSOP brand integration, and gamification features (staking marketplace, Smart HUD visual indicators, AoF) attract a larger proportion of recreational and casual players than traditional grinder-heavy networks. The ban on third-party tracking software further levels the playing field by preventing database-driven exploitation of weaker opponents. Player pool softness is the single biggest reason GGPoker scores 9.5/10 for traffic in this GGPoker review.

\Rising in Popularity!/

Tournaments

The tournament offering is where GGPoker pulls furthest ahead of competitors in our GGPoker review. GGPoker’s tournament schedule is the most extensive in online poker, anchored by two flagship series that no other operator can match.

WSOP Online

Since GGPoker’s parent company (NSUS Group) acquired the WSOP brand, GGPoker hosts the official WSOP Online bracelet series directly on its platform. The 2026 edition runs from August 16 to September 29, featuring 33 Bracelet Events and a $25,000,000 GTD Main Event, accessible to players worldwide (outside restricted jurisdictions). This integration gives GGPoker a monopoly on the WSOP Online brand for international players, and it is the single biggest differentiator noted in our GGPoker review.

GG World Festival

The 2026 GG World Festival carried a $300 million guarantee, the largest in online poker history. The series spans several weeks and covers every format from micro-stakes satellites through high-roller events. The opening day alone drove GGPoker to its 900,000 concurrent player record.

Daily and Weekly Schedule

Outside the marquee series, GGPoker runs a dense daily tournament schedule. The GGMasters is GGPoker’s flagship $1M GTD Sunday freezeout, part of a weekly schedule exceeding 4Mincombinedguarantees.TheGGMillion series runs weekly with guarantees ranging from $2M to $10M. Bounty Hunter tournaments, where half the buy-in goes to a progressive knockout bounty, run at every stake level throughout the day. Multi-Flight events allow players to enter across multiple starting flights with a single buy-in, converging into a shared Day 2 field.

GGPoker also runs Phased tournaments, Mystery Battle Royale, Flip & Go, and Mystery Bounty events where bounty values are randomly assigned from a prize pool, adding an element of variance that appeals to recreational tournament players. WSOP Express and The Weekender provide additional satellite and multi-flight pathways into the major series.

Satellite System

The satellite structure feeds into all major series, with Step tournaments starting from as little as $0.25 and progressing through multiple stages into main event seats. The satellite overlay (where guarantees exceed entries) is generally favourable at lower buy-in levels, making this one of the most accessible paths to major tournament seats in online poker.

Staking Marketplace

GGPoker’s built-in staking marketplace allows players to sell shares of their tournament buy-ins directly within the client. Backers can browse profiles, review PokerCraft statistics, and purchase percentages at stated markups. This feature eliminates the need for external staking platforms and brings transparency to what has traditionally been an informal, trust-based process. It is a standout feature we highlight in every GGPoker review update.

\Rising in Popularity!/

PokerCraft and Smart HUD

Software tools are a frequent talking point in any GGPoker review. GGPoker bans all third-party HUDs, trackers, and auxiliary software that could influence gameplay decisions. The Security and Ecology Policy (updated March 2026) explicitly prohibits RTA tools, bots, solvers, charts, and HUDs, with violations resulting in permanent account bans and fund confiscation. In place of external tools, GGPoker provides two built-in systems.

Smart HUD

Smart HUD is a real-time heads-up display integrated directly into the GGPoker client, available to all players at no additional cost. During play, it shows a core set of statistics for each opponent at the table.

The primary stats displayed are VPIP (Voluntarily Put Money in Pot), which shows how often a player enters pots; PFR (Pre-Flop Raise), indicating how often they raise before the flop; 3-Bet frequency; ATS (Attempt to Steal), measuring how often they raise from late position; and total hands played in the current session.

Visual indicators appear around each player’s VPIP number: flame icons for players running hot (winning) and ice icons for those running cold (losing). These give quick visual reads on table dynamics.

The critical limitation is that Smart HUD collects data only for the current session and separately for each table. When you close a table or end your session, all opponent data resets. You cannot build multi-session databases on specific opponents the way traditional HUD users could on other platforms. This limitation is one of the most debated points in any GGPoker review forum thread.

Smart HUD also supports player notes of up to 1,000 characters per opponent, which persist across sessions and can be reviewed through PokerCraft. For a deeper look at reading opponent stats, see our guide on poker stats and HUD fundamentals.

PokerCraft

PokerCraft is GGPoker’s native post-session analytics suite. It functions as a comprehensive hand history viewer and performance tracker, available on both desktop and mobile at no cost.

Within PokerCraft, you can replay any hand from any session, filter your results by position, game type, stake level, and date range, review profit and loss across sessions, and analyse specific situations such as river play or blind defence.

PokerCraft also includes a Luck Help feature that adjusts your results for statistical variance, showing what your expected profit would have been if all-in situations had resolved at their equity percentages. This is useful for distinguishing genuine leaks from short-term variance.

Hand histories can be downloaded from PokerCraft in .txt format for offline analysis. While third-party HUD overlays are banned during play, offline review of your own hand histories using external analysis tools is permitted under GGPoker’s current policy.

Hand2Note Compatibility

Hand2Note is one of the few third-party tools that maintains compatibility with GGPoker for offline analysis. It can import hand histories exported from PokerCraft and provide deeper statistical modelling, including predictive analytics based on historical opponent behaviour. However, it cannot be used as a live overlay during play. For a deeper look, see our dedicated GGPoker review of Smart HUD and PokerCraft functionality.

Can I use PokerTracker or Hold’em Manager on GGPoker?

No. GGPoker bans all third-party HUDs during live play. Violations result in permanent bans and fund confiscation. Use the built-in Smart HUD and PokerCraft instead.

Banking and Payments

Banking and Payments

Withdrawal speed is one of the most common concerns raised in any GGPoker review. GGPoker supports a wide range of deposit and withdrawal methods, though availability varies by jurisdiction. The platform operates in US dollars as the primary table currency.

Deposit Methods

Deposit options include Visa and MasterCard (credit and debit), e-wallets such as Skrill, Neteller, MuchBetter, and ecoPayz, cryptocurrency (USDT via Tether), and bank transfer. The minimum deposit is $10 for most methods, though the matched deposit bonus requires a $20 minimum to activate.

Deposits through e-wallets and cryptocurrency typically process instantly. Card deposits may take a few minutes depending on issuer verification. Some banks in certain jurisdictions block gambling-related card transactions, in which case e-wallets serve as a reliable alternative.

Withdrawal Methods and Processing Times

Withdrawals must generally use the same method as the original deposit, up to the deposited amount. Profits beyond the deposited amount can be withdrawn to e-wallets or bank transfer.

Processing times depend on the method. E-wallet withdrawals (Skrill, Neteller, MuchBetter) typically clear within 24 to 48 hours. Bank transfers can take 3 to 5 business days. Cryptocurrency withdrawals via USDT are usually processed within 24 hours.

GGPoker does not charge withdrawal fees for most methods, though third-party payment processors may apply their own fees.

Currency and Conversion

All tables run in USD. Players depositing in other currencies will have their funds converted at the point of deposit. GGPoker applies a conversion margin on non-USD deposits, so players outside the US dollar zone should consider depositing via e-wallets that offer competitive exchange rates. This hidden cost is flagged as a con later in our GGPoker review.

\Rising in Popularity!/

KYC and Account Verification

KYC and Account Verification

Account verification is an area many players overlook until withdrawal time, so this GGPoker review covers it in detail. GGPoker requires Know Your Customer (KYC) verification for all accounts. Verification may be triggered at registration, at the point of first withdrawal, or when cumulative deposits reach certain thresholds.

Required Documents

The standard verification process requires a government-issued photo ID (passport, national ID card, or driver’s licence) and a proof of address document dated within the last three months (utility bill, bank statement, or government-issued letter).

In some cases, GGPoker may request additional documentation, including source-of-funds evidence for larger transactions or enhanced due diligence for accounts flagged by automated compliance systems.

Verification Timeline

Document review typically completes within 24 to 72 hours during business days. In our testing, a standard verification using a passport and utility bill was processed within 48 hours. Delays can occur during peak periods or if submitted documents are unclear or incomplete.

Withdrawals are held pending until verification is complete. Players should submit documents proactively after registration rather than waiting until they request a withdrawal, to avoid delays when cashing out. This is our top practical tip from the GGPoker review testing process.

Security Policy

GGPoker’s security team actively monitors for multi-accounting, collusion, use of prohibited software (including VPNs to circumvent geo-restrictions), and bot activity. The Security and Ecology Policy (current version dated March 13, 2026) outlines prohibited behaviours and penalties. Infractions can result in account closure, forfeiture of funds, and permanent exclusion from all GGNetwork skins. We verified the current policy date during our GGPoker review research.
